makeup tag!

-How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice! Cleanser I use is the purifying facial cream cleanser from Aesop, and then micellar water. If I've had makeup on that day I take it all off with a hot towel and coconut oil.

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)

Combination/oily. I tend to get dry spots around my mouth and jawline but apart from that i'm oily as hell.

-What is your current facial wash?

Go back to the first question :)

 -Do you exfoliate?

2 times a week + the Peter Thomas Roth glycolic acid 10% toning complex two to three times a week.

-What brand do you use?

The Immortelle Brightening Instant Exfoliator from L'occitane or the Formula 10.0.6 One Smooth Operator.

-What moisturizer do you use?

Neutrogena Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Moisturiser and It's Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Cream

-Do you have freckles?

No :(

-Do you use eye cream?

Yes, It's Skin Hyaluronic Acid eye cream.

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Used to but never had it flare up that bad, always been a skincare fanatic....

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

-What foundation do you use?

Favorite: Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet, but I also use the Dior Star. Did try out the Maybelline FIT me matte + poreless today and really like it so far! I wear 010 in the Dior, 110 in the Maybelline, and idk what color the Chanel is because it doesn't say on the bottle but the lightest most yellow toned one.

-How about concealer?

NARS Creamy Concealer, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind and L'orèal True Match Concealer.

-Do you know your undertone color?

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?

Pretty but impossible to put on. I like to think I'm okay with makeup but lashes are a mystery to me. Can't put them on for my life.

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yeah but for me it's more like every 6th.

-What brand of mascara do you use?

The Maxfactor 2000 Calorie mascara. Best to ever do it. The day it goes out of production will be a sad day for me. The Benefit Roller Lash is good but the formulation is a bit too wet so it transfers everywhere for me. For a waterproof one I like the Icona Milano Emotion Allowed.

-Sephora or MAC?

Sephora. MAC is so gimmicky to me nowadays, their new shadow formula is awful.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?

Nothing interesting, just regular brushes and beauty blenders.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

Yes, the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

-For the face?

Too Faced Hangover Primer on half the face and Emite Makeup Diamond Heart primer on top. Also the Nivea Sensitive After Shave Balm. Of course.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

All shimmery copper and champagne shades.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Liquid, pencil for tightlining. New favorite is the Too Faced Sketch Marker.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

Meh. If I want it intense I go in with a brush with Fix+ on it. No need for that mess.

-Do you use mineral makeup?

Not really.

-What is your favorite lipstick?

I HATE LIPSTICK :( Only thing that suits me is orange lipgloss.

-How about lipgloss?

Isadora Jelly Gloss in 73 Poppy Papaya.

-What is your favorite blush to use?

Wet & Wild Color Icon in Rosè Champagne.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?

Only korean.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?

Sure, why not.

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

Don't think we have any here.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

I think about it occasionally but don't think it's gonna happen.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Unblended makeup. SO EASY TO AVOID.

Boring ass bitch with my nudes.

Nicki Minaj or Kim K.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Do it on a daily so yes.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

Kiko. Haven't tried their foundations but everything else is bomb. Chanel does a great job too.

-What do you think of Makeup??

The only hobby I'm passionate about nowadays. Art.

I've been wanting a Philips Hue system for the longest time but refused to get one since the only place that had them was the Apple stores. i'm stubborn when it comes to paying that kind of premium for something that IS gonna be cheaper when it comes out on the market with store competition and so on, and this past month we've started stocking the entire line at work, so i couldn't resist!

I got the starter pack with the bridge & 'white and color' bulbs, and to be quite honest i don't think i've ever been more satisfied with a purchase.

so what is this Philips Hue thing then? i'm glad i asked! it's basically a network connected bridge that speaks with the smart bulbs and makes everything that has to do with lighting so easy and fun. me and the bf live in a very small studio apartment and getting something else (like a fibaro home center) wouldn't really make sense since we don't have a lot of space or need for sensors and other kinds of home automation. living in a rented studio apartment doesn't give you a lot of options when it comes to installing dimmers or other types of lighting control, but Hue does that for you. i can dim my lights, change the colors, turn them off/on, and use them as wake up lights just by using an app on my phone, or by talking to siri. 'hey siri' enables me to set the mood without even touching my phone or lifting a finger. it truly feels like the future and i'm so happy to live in it.

the starter kit is pretty expensive and the extra bulbs are RIDICULOUSLY priced, but i haven't spent any money on tech in a really long time and i felt like a kid in a candy store installing them so it was definitely worth the cost for me.

it's a 10/10 for me but i'm awfully biased. there's cheaper alternatives with better bulbs out there. do some research. get yourself some smart bulbs. have a cool and cozy fall! recipe for success.

sushi & stuff

So Rob and Oscar have been trying to get me out of the house to join them for sushi for like, a year now and I finally got my head out off my ass and did it. We had dinner at Tokyo Diner (Sergelgatan, 111 57 Stockholm) and it was so good! Can't wait to return to try more of the delicious looking menu items! Props for having wheat free soy sauce.

Catching up with these two is always the highlight of my day/week/month. Rob has been away for the past month doing his excellent work across the globe, but finally landed back in Stockholm so I'm happy I got to see him even though he just got home yesterday. Oscar is my best friend so it's always good to see him. I love them both so much and I'm very happy to be able to call them my close friends!

KIKO came out with these cute little splits recently! They can be mixed together or used separately and come in lots and lots of color combinations. These are the ones I got, glittery pretty shimmers. Formulation and color payoff is good, the only one that is a little bit wonky is the nude one in the split with the navy. It's a bit chalky and the pigmentation is off.

Will post pics when I've tried them out on my eyes! There's this one with a greenish white and it's so beautiful but green looks incredibly strange on me. If you see these, swatch them! Super affordable too.

Been OBSESSED with watching/re-watching every single TV-series David Attenborough has ever narrated lately. Not only does he have the most soothing voice, it's also a great show to watch just to learn things you've might have been wondering about. As we were watching the insect episode of Life, I realised I've always been intrigued by the thought of what butterflies and other bugs do during the winter, and there, I got an answer.

We just finished Life, so now we're watching Africa and everything just holds up to such a high standard. They're all so good!

While we're on the topic of LIFE: I need to get my life sorted out! I've been so bad at remembering things lately so I decided to buy myself a planner. We'll see if it makes my life more organized haha!

I have some bigger posts planned for the blog, one of them is an 'empties' post. I've tried out and discovered so many things lately, some good, and some bad. I can't wait to share them with you!

Glow Kit: Sun Dipped + Modern Renaissance: quick review

The eyeshadow palette has this suede:y exterior which is just very ??? to me. Can't wait to have a disgusting palette! Super pretty but seriously feels like dust and makeup is gonna cling onto it so badly. Feels cheap, comes with a mediocre brush. Appreciate the effort with the mirror.

Color selection + formulation is great! They blend like a dream. Haven't dipped into all the colors yet but so far: A+

So chunky. No seriously. They even photograph like they swatch. Chunky, more like a foiled eyeshadow than a highlighter. Glitter fallout EVERY_GOD DAMN_ WHERE. Just gritty and not even close to the formula on the original ones. Pigmentation is better but formula is so off. Color selection is beautiful. Not a complete waste of money but if you want something similar but better: go for the original glow kit in That Glow.

Packaging is very very pretty. Overall disappointing launch but the blendability of the eyeshadows saves it.  Color selection feels fresh and new, good addition to a kit.

Depression is unforgiving. Like any other disease it cannot be fought with willpower. It doesn't matter what kind of state you're in when it strikes. It's always heavy, grey, shapeless. It fills the room. It makes your limbs go numb and stomach hurt.

Living with depression sometimes feels like living with an infection. Always present. Always silent. Sometimes it doesn't even hurt. It's just there, eating away on your insides. Growing. Constantly conquering the healthy bits. Piece by piece. All of a sudden you're in a room with no doors or windows. You can't get out but you make a home in the darkness.

Sadness is temporary. Sadness is black. Sadness comes, goes and hurts. Depression is grey. Doesn't leave. Stains everything. Swallows everything oh so slowly. Beats in the same pace as your heart. Becomes you.

Is a pattern. Is a routine. Is what you know.
